Wellesley Historical Society Annual Dinner – A Salute to Wellesley World War II Veterans

On Thursday, June 17, the Wellesley Historical Society’s Annual Dinner commemorated the end of World War II 65 years ago in 1945, and World War II veterans from Wellesley were honored. The event was held at the Wellesley Country Club and featured dinner, a silent auction to benefit the Society, a display of World War II memorabilia, and an outdoor display of military vehicles from the war years.

During dinner the Society made its annual scholarship awards to students from Wellesley. This year, three students were each presented with awards of $1,000.

PinkRose Spring Trend Night

On Thursday June 3, Lyn Evans-Potpourri Designs hosted the PinkRose Foundation’s Spring Trend Night. It was a fun and festive evening with a fashion show featuring breast cancer survivors, wine and cheese, and exciting raffle prizes.

The PinkRose Foundation, Inc. provides scholarships for children to embark on personal growth and begin to overcome the grief caused by breast cancer.

Wellesley Chamber of Commerce Business Lunch Session

On Friday, May 21 the Wellesley Chamber of Commerce held a business lunch session at the Wellesley Free Library. The session featured a presentation titled “How to Get Your Employees to Love Their Job in Any Economy” by Dr. Paul Powers, author and management psychologist. Lunch was sponsored by The Upper Crust Pizzeria.
