WellesleyWeston Magazine Celebrates Our 50th Issue!

Screen Shot 2017-09-12 at 7.07.07 AMAs we proudly celebrate our fiftieth issue, I hope you’ll enjoy taking another look at our covers. Every now and then, I like to revisit our covers and reread articles in past issues. It’s gratifying that many readers tell me that they do the same. Choosing a cover is a thoughtful process that usually begins a year or two in advance of publication, and it’s always a pleasure to see our ideas come to life.

At WellesleyWeston Magazine, we take great pride in our cover selections and they always seem to be be well-received within the community. Throughout the years, I have appreciated the wonderful comments and suggestions our readers have offered regarding covers and content. Do you have a favorite cover? Do you have an idea for a future cover? If so, we would love to hear from you. Please email our editor, Jill Nilsen, at jill@wellesleywestonmagazine.com with your feedback regarding past covers and articles as well as your thoughts about future ones. I’m looking forward to many more captivating covers and inspirational articles in the years to come.

Thank you for helping us celebrate our fiftieth issue!

10th Annual Luminary Night to Take Place on Sunday, December 11, in Wellesley

43a54518-5d0d-4fb4-912a-ed38b89a68baThe Wellesley Hills Junior Women’s Club’s (WHJWC) is pleased to announced that the 10th Annual Luminary Night will take place on Sunday, December 11. On Luminary Night, the Wellesley community is encouraged to “share the light” by lighting luminary candles along their doorsteps and sidewalks to celebrate the holiday season.

Luminary kits are available online and at Roche Brothers, the Linden Store, the Recycling and Disposal Facility, Wellesley Dental Group and the Wellesley Holiday Boutique. Each kit includes 10 luminaries and sells for $20. Kits purchased online will be delivered by December 10.

Luminary Night proceeds directly benefit the Wellesley community through scholarship for Wellesley High School students and grants for local non-profits. Last year, Luminary Night raised $27,000, with more than 13,500 candles lighting the town.

In marking the 10th anniversary of Luminary Night, the WHJWC would like to thank all in the community who have made this a special annual event, from the businesses who support this fundraising effort to the neighbors who host luminary night get-togethers. The 2016 Luminary Night is supported by corporate sponsors including Marc Leibole, Eye Care and Laser Surgery of Newton Wellesley; Needham Bank; Brendon Properties; Debi Benoit and Roche Bros.
