Wellesley Trails Committee Guided Walk: Morses Pond

As part of Wellesley’s Wonderful Weekend, walk the trails along Morses Pond, a 102-acre pond and a source for our town water wells. View the pond, islands and wildlife. The walk will take you through a pine forest to the old town beach and gravel pit, and along the Cochituate Aqueduct. Meet at 9 a.m. at the gate to the town beach, located at the end of Turner Road, 0.3 mi. west of Weston Rd.

Wooly Ways in Olden Days

Longfellow’s Wayside Inn in Subdury will hold its annual ‘Wooly Ways in Olden Days’ on Sunday May 20, from 11:30am to 3:30pm on the front lawn of the historic inn. No reservations are required for this free, old fashioned sheep-shearing and early textiles demonstration event, presented by the Museum Services Department at Longfellow’s Wayside Inn, The Boston Area Spinners and Dyers, and The American Textile History Museum in Lowell. Other area experts will also be on hand to demonstrate a variety of crafts including colonial clothes making, wool carding, dyeing, spinning and weaving, flax processing, lace making, and much more! Voices & Visions Gala

Celebrate the works of The Home for Little Wanderers’ brightest artists at the Voices & Visions gala on Wednesday, May 23, 2012, Seaport World Trade Center, Boston. This fundraiser features an exhibit of visual arts and creative writing pieces by children in The Home’s many programs. In addition to the art exhibit, highlights include a cocktail reception, silent auction, dinner, program and recognition of special guests Robert K. Sheridan, President and CEO, SBLI and Virginia Griffin, Watson’s Candies.
